RK Preferred builds paver patios, seat walls, steps and walkways in Indian Trail. Many homes here have a small builder slab or a bare backyard, so replacing it with a paver patio is the most common first project, often with a seat wall and steps down to the lawn.
Replacing a builder slab
The old slab comes out, the area is excavated and a crushed-stone base goes in, compacted in layers and pitched so water runs away from the house. An edge restraint keeps the border tight, then the pavers are laid, cut to fit and the joints filled.
An Indian Trail patio with seat walls
On one recent Indian Trail job, a large-format paver patio runs the length of a screened porch, with seat walls along the open edge and an outdoor kitchen at the far end. The seat walls went in first, then the patio around them. See the full project.

Pavers we install
Most of our patios are Unilock: Beacon Hill Smooth for a clean, large-format terrace, Treo for smaller modern units and Copthorne for walkways and borders. We also install Techo-Bloc and Belgard pavers, and travertine.
Drainage comes first
Red clay and builder grading often send water toward the house in Indian Trail. We check where the water goes before the patio is built and fix it as part of the project. See yard drainage in Indian Trail.
Questions from Indian Trail homeowners
Can my patio be bigger than the old slab?
Usually, yes. The new patio is designed around how you use the yard, not the old footprint.
Do you build seat walls and steps with the patio?
Yes. They’re planned together so the heights and joints line up.
Where are you based?
On Waxhaw Indian Trail Road in Indian Trail, minutes from most jobs here.
