Mowing done right
Every mowing visit includes edging along all hardscapes and bed lines, string trimming where the mower can’t reach, and blowing off the driveway, walks and patio. Mowers are kept sharp so they cut cleanly instead of tearing the grass, and the height is set for your grass type, whether tall fescue, Bermuda or a mix for sun and shade. In late fall and winter the schedule slows with the growth.
Fertilization and weed control
Treatments run through the whole year and are timed to the lawn’s growth. Early season pre-emergent stops crabgrass and chickweed before they sprout. Spring and summer feedings keep the turf dense enough to crowd out weeds, and fall fertilization builds roots for winter. Red clay and its pH vary across a yard, so the program is set for your property, not a bag at the garden center.
Aeration, overseeding and irrigation
Fall core aeration pulls plugs from compacted clay so water and nutrients reach the roots. Overseeding follows right after, so seed lands in the holes with good soil contact and fills thin areas by spring.
Irrigation gets a spring start-up, where each zone is tested for coverage, broken heads and leaks are found and the controller is set for the season, and a fall winterization, where the lines are blown out with compressed air and the backflow preventer is drained before the first hard freeze.
What the program covers
Weekly mowing in the April to September growing season, with edging along hardscapes and beds, string trimming and blowing off every surface. Fertilization and weed control timed to the season, starting with pre-emergent treatments in early spring. Shrub trimming and bed care through the year.
Spring clean-up clears debris and matted leaves, cuts back ornamental grasses and redefines bed edges. Fall leaf removal runs over several visits from October into December. Fall core aeration and overseeding thicken thin turf, and irrigation systems get a spring start-up and a fall blowout.
Snow and ice
In winter we clear driveways, walkways and patios, shovel in front of garage doors and apply salt to keep paved surfaces safe. Service is available per visit, monthly or for the season, including nights, weekends and holidays.
