Projects we build here
The most common jobs are replacing a cracked concrete slab with a paver patio, replacing a leaning timber wall with a block retaining wall, and a bed renovation that clears out overgrown shrubs and replants in layers. Uplighting mature trees is a popular finishing touch.
Older lots often hide drainage problems that a new patio would make worse, so we check where the water goes before anything is built.
Older yards, renovation work
Matthews has mature neighborhoods where the house has been updated and the yard is next. Cracked concrete slabs, overgrown shrubs, roots near the surface and timber walls at the end of their life are typical.
Renovation often starts with a tear-out of old beds and lawn, regrading for drainage, then new hardscape, planting and sod.
Working around mature trees
Big trees are an asset. We design around them, keep heavy equipment off their roots, and light them at night.
