RK Preferred builds outdoor fireplaces, fire pits and fire tables in South Charlotte and Ballantyne, in wood-burning or gas. Backyards here are often smaller and closer to the neighbors, so where the fire goes matters as much as what it looks like.
A fireplace on a tighter Charlotte lot
A tall masonry fireplace can close in a seating area and screen a view of the house next door or a breeze, which helps on a smaller lot. Placement also decides where the smoke goes, so the design keeps it from drifting across the terrace or into the neighbor’s yard.
Stone, block or custom
One of our Charlotte projects is a stone outdoor fireplace on a natural stone patio. Fireplaces and fire pits can be built from manufactured block, from natural stone kits or as custom masonry, matched to the patio and seat walls.
Fire pit, fire table or fireplace
A round fire pit with a seat wall keeps a group facing each other. A low fire table fits a dining or lounge terrace. A fireplace closes in a seating area and works as the focal point of a smaller yard.
Neighborhood review
Most neighborhoods here have an HOA. Your plan and 3D rendering show the fireplace’s height, footprint and materials, which is what a review usually asks to see.
Questions from Charlotte homeowners
Can you build a gas fireplace?
Yes. Fire features can be wood-burning or gas, and the fuel line is planned as part of the design.
Will a fireplace fit a small backyard?
Often, yes. The design places it where it closes in the seating instead of crowding it. Rob looks at it at the site visit.
Is South Charlotte in your service area?
Yes. Ballantyne and South Charlotte are about 10 miles from our Indian Trail yard, in Mecklenburg County.
